Installation Guide
Inside:
- Mounting Location: Brackets are secured to the top surface inside the window frame.
- Method: Drill holes vertically upward.
- Visual Effect: Whether raised or lowered, the Roman blind stays completely within the window frame, creating a clean, space-saving look (requires sufficient frame depth, typically at least 5–7 cm / 2–3 inches).
Outside:
- Mounting Location: Brackets are secured to the wall surface 10–15 cm (4–6 inches) above the window (or on the front outer face of the frame).
- Method: Drill holes horizontally forward, taking care to avoid concrete lintels or steel rebar above the window frame.
- Visual Effect: Hanging outside the window, the Roman blind completely covers the frame and trim when fully lowered—providing superior light blocking and making small windows look visually larger.
Measure Tips
Inside:
① Measure the Depth
Measure the depth at the top of the inside window casing to ensure adequate space for a secure inside mount. This measurement will also determine if a flush mount, where the product sits within the window frame without protruding, is possible. The minimum depth requirements for different shades vary, kindly check the format below for the information on depth requirements for each shade, which is necessary for an inside mount.
② Measure the Width
For Shades: Due to potential irregularities in window shapes, it is recommended to measure the window at three places: across the top, middle, and bottom. Round each measurement down to the nearest 1/8 inch when ordering.
③ Measure the Length
To determine the length, also measure the window in three locations: across the left, center, and right. Use the largest of these measurements as your ordering length. Round each measurement down to the nearest 1/8 inch when ordering. The total shade length includes the headrail.7 cm / 2–3 inches).
Outside:
① Check the Space
Measure the height of the area above the window where the headrail of the shade will be mounted. Confirm that the space is sufficient to guarantee a secure and proper installation of the brackets and headrail.
② Measure the Width
Measure the width of the window. For framed windows, measure from the outer edge of the frame or trim. If space permits, it is recommended to add 4-6 inches (2-3 inches on each side) to this measurement to reduce light leakage. This adjusted measurement will be your ordering width, representing the overall width of the shade.

③ Measure the Length
Measure the height of the window(Frame outer edge to edge). If space permits, it is recommended to mount the shade at least 10-12 inches above the window frame to account for its stack height when fully rolled up and to maximize the window's exposure. The total shade length includes the headrail.
Motorized Control
- For the 4th step of the customization, please select "Motorized" to upgrade to the motorized option.
- Our motorized shades are powered by rechargeable lithium batteries, offering a crisp look and an effortless operation.
- If you use a smart speaker such as Alexa or HomePod, our motorized shades can be connected directly for voice control. If you don’t have a smart speaker but would like to control your shades using your phone, simply contact our customer service team to purchase a hub device, which enables app-based control of your shades.
- No messy cords—it comes in a sleek style, just like cordless roller shades. To recharge, plug in the Type-C charging cable. The cable is about 110" long by default. If you need a longer one, please speak with us for more details.
- A full charge of the roller takes just 6 hours. Depending on the frequency of use, and typically lasts 3 to 6 months.
- Seamless Setup: Each motorized shade is shipped fully charged for your convenience. Upon delivery, simply insert the battery into the remote—or remove the insulation strip if pre-installed—and your shades are ready to use. No additional programming is required.

The stack height will vary slightly based on the size of the Roman blinds as well as the fold type.
